GOP candidates, news media skirt the tough issues

CNN sponsored the June 13 debate for Republican presidential hopefuls, and USA TODAY's reporting failed to emphasize that these politicians did not demonstrate the backbone to fully answer a question

Americans only elect those who promise handouts with no sacrifice. No politician honestly answers the questions before him or her, so the citizens are not given the option of choosing a real leader over a sleazy politician.

Real leadership is much more difficult than merely speaking, but we can't even find someone who will speak like a leader, much less lead. I hoped at least one of the Republican candidates could have shown the integrity to actually propose a future and vision for the country.

The main coverage after last week's debacle should have detailed how the candidates avoided each question. The young people of this nation need to start a revolution, because the current debate process for selecting candidates is dooming their future.
