When does deception cross the line and the “spin” becomes a lie?
In a recent political campaign speech at a Chrysler plant in Ohio, the President touted the success of his takeover of the auto industry. He quoted glowing figures about the Chrysler and GM turnaround under his program, claiming the taxpayers had gotten all their money back from his bold redistribution of wealth from the owners to the unions.
One problem: nothing he said could stand scrutiny, it was all spin, some might say all lies.
Here’s what the Washington Post had to say about Obama’s speech (and remember the Post is a big Obama supporter) ”What we found is one of the most misleading collection of assertions we have seen in a short presidential speech…nearly every claim needs an asterisk.” They gave the speech 3 Pinocchio’s; the president’s nose should be noticeably longer.
Both sides spin but this speech was an exceptional distortion because the president was lying to justify his own illegal takeover of the auto industry.

Realist - Everybody in America is soft, and hates conflict. The cure for this, both in politics and social life, is the same -- hardihood. Give them raw truth.
