So, paraphrasing: "Liberal funding of NPR is okay because the Republicans do the same sort of thing." Is that your reasoning, clo?
I believe your argument SHOULD have been, "It *is* wrong for government to subsidize NPR. But it is also wrong for government to subsidize these favored Conservative industries: [Big Oil, etc.]"
And if you'd done that, I'd have agreed with you.
As it is, I can only say that I don't know why you don't understand that two wrongs do NOT make a right.
By the way...
Big Oil, one of the subsidy recipients you just wrote about, differs from Public Radio in that it does not exist principally for the purpose of getting voters to vote for the poltical side that subdidizes it. I'm not saying that this makes subsidization of Big Oil "okay." I'm just saying that the politicians who vote it money are POSSIBLY not doing it for the same self-serving purpose as those who keep voting money to NPR.
