Glencore profit rises; it’s not in ENRC talks
Commodities firm reports 39% surge in revenue

LONDON (MarketWatch) — Commodities trading giant Glencore International on Tuesday said quarterly profit jumped to more than $1 billion in its first results since going public, as the group also said it’s not actively looking at an acquisition of Eurasian Natural Resources Corp.

The group said first-quarter profit attributable to equity holders surged to $1.09 billion from $295 million in the same period a year earlier, while adjusted profit for the quarter was up 47% to $1.3 billion.
