That's an intriguing epiphany, fizzy.
I'm trying not to cough up a lung today, so I'll keep this short.
Your observation that those who hold dollars are supporting an evil "slave" system is completely compatible with my own decision to "drop out" by no longer saving. That is, I am now spending all of the additional money I earn each month instead of putting the money into dollar based saving vehicles as I've done all my life. The money isn't being blown, but instead of racking up electronic digits and accruing minimal interest, I'm filling up shelf space and accruing nothing except price appreciation (which I don't value since it is dollar denominated.) Oddly enough, the price appreciation I'm getting is far more than the interest the "savers" are gaining, but that's a different topic.
It's good to know that something I'm doing purely for my own benefit also puts me squarely on the moral high ground! And yet I expect resentment from others, if they ever find out what I've done.
I guess you'll be making a similar move now. Land, art and PM. Those are your best bets if you need to move 7+ figures out of FRNs. You'll need to be very careful with whatever land (it can be confiscated) and art (its value may not endure) purchases you make, and be careful of the IRS. They may not like what you're doing. Everything feels dangerous these days. Let us know how it goes.
