Before I dumped anything really old, irrespective of the condition, I'd research some of the collector websites or see if there are any collectors in your area as they may be worth, at least to an aficionado, more than you realize.

If they take clunkers, I've 3 or 4 I'd turn in. Rather they get chewed up than get someone hurt.. Kids aren't interested, some were my parents or inlaw's... a couple have License numbers engraved, so can't be passed along anyway... One is a really old Remington 22 pump, rifle, but, badly worn..... Some old ammo. too, actually... Or, just cut 'em up, toss em in the recycle bin I guess... We used to ba able to sell old long guns at the flea, no more..
