Thanks Loop, that is interesting, but expected I guess since Nokia can cetrtainly afford the best legal representation that money can buy. I apologize that my knowledge of famous US law firms is lacking, and in no way was my ignorance of this history meant to besmirch the reputaions of the advocates employed by Nokia; but my point remains that I believe that the CAFC will base their decision totally on the merits of the case as presented, and not the reputation's of the firms or lawyers aguing the case.

Maybe this is overly idealistic, but I believe anything less would be a sad indibtment and mistrust of our legal system. That trust that the CAFC will ultimately do what is right based totally on the merits of the case is my belief and it remains the jist of my posts on this subject.

For your information

"Alston & Bird is the dynamic, prominent firm it is today as the result of the leadership of individual, outstanding attorneys and thoughtful mergers that strengthened our practice areas, culture and philosophies.

The firm’s history dates back to 1893 through the long roots of the Alston, Miller & Gaines’ predecessor firms. The merger with Jones, Bird and Howell formed Alston & Bird on December 1, 1982. Expansion beyond Georgia began with the establishment of an office in Washington, DC, followed by the 1997 merger with Bell Seltzer Park & Gibson (Charlotte and Raleigh, NC) and Walter, Conston, Alexander & Green in 2001 (New York, NY), and the acquisition of Crews, Shepherd & McCarty LLP in 2007 (Dallas, TX). Alston & Bird's Silicon Valley office opened on August 1, 2008, and its Los Angeles and Ventura County offices opened on September 2 following the acquisition of Weston Benshoof Rochefort Rubalcava and MacCuish LLP."

Your reference to this guy Bird refers to a man practicing law in 1893. The firm represents Nok and they sent their best. They sent the same guy who has appeared with Judge Luckern in seminars regarding ITC investigations.
