On the radio this morning during my drive-time it was reported that since President Obama has now released copies of his 'long-form' birth certificate, the nut-job Jerome Corsi (of 2004 Swift-boat fame) whose just released book claims to prove that Obama wasn't born in Hawaii (it was already written and on the verge of publication when the birth certificate was released) is now taking up the notion that Obama, even if he WAS born in Hawaii, isn't qualified to be President because his father was not a citizen at the time of his birth.

Well it turns out that Obama is the 7th President where one or more parent was an immigrant, and while there is evidence in those 6 previous cases that some of the immigrant parents did become citizens before their birth, in a few that has never been clearly established, such as Andrew Jackson, whose father died a couple of months before he was born and who at the time had been in the country less than 2 years. And in one case, 21st President Chester A. Arthur, it's well documented that his father didn't apply for citizenship until 14 years AFTER he was born.

So if precedence is any indication, it would appear that that ship has also sailed.
