Just heard part of an interview with Bill Maher. Here's a summary of what he said re. Repuglicans:
"When I was a kid, there were reasonable people in the Republican Party, people I liked a lot.....When I started in.... TV, I used to say that when I want a mean old man to watch my money, I want a Republican. The editorial position of the Republic Party is that they're the party of national defense and fiscal responsibility - (now) ..... they've proved that they suck at both, so tell me what they are really good at?
They let 9/11 happen on their watch, they didn't get bin Laden, they got us involved in an unnecessary war, not to mention we're broke. If it's not defense and money, just tell us what you're good at.....
Defunding Planned Parenthood and NPR? Really important! Their agenda of protecting insurance companies from sick children and naming buildings after Ronald Reagan just means they don't think they can depend on Tim Pawlenty's sex appeal."
Some (sad) truth here and yes, certainly some exaggerations too....
