"The Partnership for New York City, a group of 200 CEOs, has noted that between "1998 and 2008, a net total of more than 1.7 million New Yorkers chose to relocate, taking with them their wealth and talent" to "places where the tax burden is less."

Lest anyone thinks this group's findings are isolated or hopelessly biased, consider this from a 2010 American Legislative Exchange Council report:

"Over the past 25 years, tens of millions of Americans have voted with their feet against anti-growth policies," relocating in tax-friendlier states.

Lawmakers who ignore the past will soon find out that they have run out of other people's money."

I remember years ago when taxes went through the roof, the folks with money left the country. That was when companies started building factories in Mexico. "How quickly we forget".
