Poor old right-wingers, it's been a bad few days for them, it's almost enough to make you feel sorry for them.
First a thousand and one goober conspiracy theories were demolished in an instant with the publication of Obama's birth certificate. Then Obama authorises the mission that gets Osama bin Laden, having first reconstituted the unit dedicated to tracking him down. That's the same unit that Bush ordered to be wound down after he let him escape, at that time he claimed that he "neither knew nor cared" where he was. Nevertheless in gooberworld, that crazy little fun park where reality can be anything you want, Bush was still responsible for getting Osama. Anyone but Obama deserves praise.
In a week the far right have completed a bizarre transition having gone from being birthers at the start of it (even now they are claiming his birth certificate was photoshopped or forged in some way) to becoming deathers at the end ot it. That is they are unaccounatbly weeping over the death of Osama bin Laden and refusing to acknowledge the part in his demise that Obama played while furiously scrambling to invent and rewrite history. Indeed some have denied that Osama was even killed, something even al Qaeda acknowledge.
We've also had tears shed by them because Osama was killed while unarmed, as though he was going to walk into captivity or that he hadn't considered wearing an explosive vest. The right are then complaining that disproportionate force was used, yet these are the same people that have wet dreams to this day about "shock and awe" and are now complaining that soldiers on a dangerous military mission were using guns. Next they'll demand that they should have knocked on his front door and left a message.
The latest conspiracy theory suggests that Osama was stitching Euro notes into his clothing and was about to flee having been somehow first warned. Let's look at that calmly...let's say you are a terrorist who knows that there is a high price on your head, indeed you are as likely to die from a cruise missile strike as from a bullet to the bonce, and either could arrive any second. You are told that your compound might come under imminent attack. Do you immediately run, or delay your departure so that you can laboriously stitch money into your clothing? Something you've had six years to do. Nevertheless the latter is what the right are now suggesting and are complaining that Obama didn't give him enough time to escape having presumably first personally warned him. The amazing thing is that people are spending time inventing these conspiracies and then inviting ridicule by going public with them. Then they get posted on to non-goober sites like this where the rest of us are supposed to give them the time of day.
We've also had whining that Obama is displaying in triumphialism by showing up at Ground Zero. Nevertheless they ignore that Bush was invited to share this moment, he declined, just as they ignore and excuse Bush's posturing piece of triumphialism under a photo-shopped banner. Then they claim that Obama ordered that the US flag be removed at the wreath laying when it was there all along. That gem flew round the internet with alacrity. It didn't matter that it was complete BS or could be shot down by simply turning the television on and watching the ceremony, or viewing some of the pictures of the event many of which were handily available online. Nope, it entered the netherworld of right-wing politics and therefore despite all contrary evidence it was accepted as fact.
And yet they'll claim in the next instance with straight faces that no-one hates like a liberal.
No one likes a bad loser but the scrambling to re-write history reveals the far-right to be worse than that, somewhere at a place where nihilism meets mendacity and evil. If any more proof was needed of their detachment from reality the reaction to this event is it. An adult completed the job that Bush failed to see through. Goobers and dead-enders everwhere need to deal with that as fact. Too bad it doesn't fit the right-wing narrative, but then very little does. Keep scrambling goobers - with every further bit of whining on this isssue you are taking yourselves deeper into a political oblivion that no amount of vote rigging will get you out of.
