A new poll from Washington Post/ABC shows a collapse of birther sentiment:
Was Obama born outside the US? Between April 2010 and April 2011, Republicans who said so fell from 31% to 14%. More than half! Among Republicans!
Wait, among Conservative Republicans it went from 35% to 16%.
Independents from 81% to 12%.
Democrats from 15% to 7%.
Almost everyone (the 10% who cling desperately to the premise) now say it's only "their suspicion", and only 1% claim "solid evidence". That's down from 9% last year.
I guess even the Birthers have decided it makes them look like idiots to keep up this nonsense. Most of them, anyway.
