Well, there was a benefit of sorts. There was a building Islamist problem that needed addressing. It took a bad boy to wake us up to the need to put a stop to it.
Now we've got chaos in the ME and their symbolic leader dead. We will see where it goes from here. On one hand I don't think they're going to forget us. On the other, they might be looking inward for a few years.
I'm concerned the Islamists will take over in the countries where the dictators are falling. Then they'll have more resources to use against us. And developments in Egypt are not so great. Maybe almost time for Israel to take the Sinai back and kick the Arabs out to whatever destination they'd like (Egypt, Jordan, Hell, etc.). It looks like the probability of war is increasing. Will ElBaradei win in September?
