That is not the answer.
The first step towards the answer, is to quit
enabling stupidity. Kick welfare down from the
federal level of government to the state level.
The State's, of course, will quickly find they
can NOT afford the largesse and will tighten up
on eligibility. Eventually, those that can work
will be forced to take jobs.
Another step - when a woman has her first child - at
taxpayers expense - she gets a free Norplant (five
year contraceptive). If she has a second child at
taxpayers expense she gets her tubes tied. (No more
children at taxpayers expense.)
This would reduce the numbers of children born, shall
we say, out of wedlock and into poverty.
Next - tell the black community that they have to
play one-on-one with the white boys - No more
affirmative action. No more quotas. And no more
'free rides' for half wits in our colleges. Either
they get the grades and pass the minimum requirements
to go to college or they don't go. Same with minority
set asides in government contracts.
Look, we went through a 30 year program that should
have done a LOT to produce a situation in which blacks
could achieve parity with whites. Busing and
integration of the schools. Affirmative action in
hiring and higher education. Minority set aside
programs.
A black dude my age had every opportunity placed in
front of them. They went to the same schools I did.
They served in the same Army I did. I was denied a
job with the NOAA so's they could place two blacks.
A black dude my age should have gotten his educations
in the 70's. (Busing in the schools.) Mastered his
trade in the 80's. (Affirmative Action.) Became
a contractor in the 90's (minority set aside programs)
and today be in a position to fund the United Negro
College Fund.
So why haven't they?
Welfare and corruption are like drugs. Blaming Whitey
is too easy a cop out - especially when you have self
hating liverals only too happy to shove it up their
own butts.
