'Tis a hungry beast... Look at all the cheerleaders, all gung ho to dive into everyone else's business anywhere in the world, even if they are mere bit plays... Complete bunch of blockheads with no idea of the cost of anything.. 80% waste is likely a low estimate... Check out the gov't surplus material auctions, millions of tons of scrap iron, electronics, wheeled vehicles, ships, boats, tools, sold off for little or nothing of what it cost to build, store... We still have a good sized mothball fleet out here, back to early WWII... Bases close, then we spend $Billions to clean up the mess left behind... Complete aircraft carrier plane elevators were found buied at the Hunter's Point Naval Shipyard.. Drums of radium dials, a nasty mess...
And no one has the cajones to put the brakes on, stop it...
