Zim, it is not even about black and white. It is worse than that Giving any student a low score makes him feel bad so everybody has to get good scores. We cannot have kids with low self esteem. Because NOBODY gets bad grades, nobody has to learn anything to pass.

DGPeddler> I would think the gap would narrow because of the dumbing down of all students. Many white kids today are not learning the three 'R's.

I suspect, DGPeddler,
That the 'dumbing down' is a direct result of our
'universities' attempting to cater to 'students' who
are not qualified to be in college. (And school
systems so 'determined' not to be 'racist' that
they pass along numb nutzes.)

Some years ago, my paper ran an article about how
the highest SAT score of any black admitted to the
University of Virginia was a fair amount lower than
the lowest SAT score of any white admitted.

While the SAT score is not a true indicator of who
will do well in college - substandard SAT scores are
proof that the kid lacks the pre-requisite knowledge
to perform college level work.

And so now our universities have a conundrum . . .
do they educate the kids who are ready? Or do they
waste the true scholars time trying to bring n-words
up to some resemblence of being knowledgable?

On a last note, some years ago, I went to my local
junior college to take a computer programming course.
Opening night of class and I ask the instructor for
a homework assignment. This black dude threatens
me with bodily harm because I asked for homework.

Quite obviously, the n-word was not there to get an
education - he was probably there to get a piece of
paper claiming he was as smart as a white boy . . .
but he never will be.

Zim.
