It is shocking and frustrating. But the folks who made the mess seem unable or unwilling to admit their responsibility for it. Until that happens unambiguously, not much is possible in the context of the Senate's super-majority structure.

Meanwhile, incumbent self-interest will continue.

Hi Cactus:

The piece was weak, but thought I'd paste it anyway.

It seems in America today that nobody is interested in undertaking decisive action to defend our country. Compromise, make-believe answers, and masking reality all are all in vogue as America swirls down the toilet at a rather breathtaking pace.

We had a nice run. Now it's time to surrender while playing "Let's Pretend" we're doing something.

Long Live Goldman Sachs, private equity, and government collusion! Banana Capitalism is best. They'll take good care of us.
