Watching the French news the other night and learned how the French are re-vamping sex education to cut down on teen pregnancy and abortion.
First, they give the kids the straight facts about sex, STD's, pregnancy, and birth control.
Then, they give them vouchers to go to the doctor, get tested for STD's and obtain birth control. The vouchers bypass the need for the teens to notify their parents.
The lack of parental notification is not without controversy; however, it is based on the facts that parental notification results in fewer teens taking the steps required to protect themselves.
Big Surprise: French teens have far lower rates of pregnancy, abortion, and STD's compared to American teens.
