There will be a breaking point both in political blame, and in the street conduct at some future point.
As I have said for many years - in the Great Depression, back when my parents were in their twenties - folks would stand in line at soup kitchens. (And my grandparents would feed "hobos" that got off the train.) Next time, instead of peaceful lines at the soup kitchens, they'll just kill you if they think you've got cans of Pork and Beans stockpiled in your basement.
I am not optimistic. Far too many Americans far too ignorant to fix this. I mean, some huge percentage of folks don't even have any concept of what a billion is, let alone a trillion. Don't know the difference between debt and deficit. Don't even know how the government works (if, indeed, it actually does!)
