You're right. Nor will Obama lose your vote if it turns out he was born in Kenya and has made a mockery of our Constitution.
There are a LOT of reasons I don't like Obama... and this one is pretty low on the list. But there are many people for whom the eligibility question could be the proverbial straw that makes them vote for a Republican.
So, again, a reasonable person... an OBJECTIVE person... has to wonder why Obama won't lift a finger to capture those votes.
I was firmly in the Obama camp on this issue last year. But the longer it drags on, the more I learn and the longer something Obama SHOULD be able to display remains concealed, the weirder Obama's behavior seems and the closer I am to becoming a "birther." The mystery is not going away. It's growing. Do you suppose that Obama's plan might be to let conservatives work themselves into a lather over this and then pull out the long form right after his competition has committed itself to the other camp? If so, the man is a genius.
But I doubt that's the case. From what I've heard of his performance at Harvard, Obama isn't really all that bright.
