The article contains nothing new. It does contain two lines that bother me:
Obama could file a Freedom of Information Act request to view his original birth certificate and make copies. But at this point, the White House maintains, nothing will satisfy the doubters.
That position by the White House is baffling. Why not give publication of the long form a try - just to see what "doubters" would do? It would put Obama in the position of being able to say he had done everything he could to answer the question, and would make the doubters look REALLY irrational. No one can effectively argue with a valid long form.
But he hasn't done that, and gives no indication that he's willing to. He's dug in his heels, and I have to wonder why. It seems that he is willing to put forth only the least possible effort to comply with a constitutional requirement. WHY??? Does this issue mean so little to him?
There ARE some very strange things about Obama's birth. His grandmother stated that he was born in Kenya. He traveled as a child to countries Americans were barred from. There is an appalling lack of credible stories about his childhood. Where are all the people who knew him? (And yes, I know that Hawaii's governor has said that HE knew the Obama family and remember when Barry was born . . . and THAT is probably the least believable story of all.)
I can tell you that the long form would satisfy *ME*. So, for a fact, the White House's theoretically-principled stance against releasing the detailed birth certificate is definitely, provably wrong.
