Linda, Texas does not have income taxes. The windmills do increase the value of the land and thus the land owner has higher property taxes. I have a friend who is complaining about his property taxes going up. The windmills stop about a half mile from his property. He could have sold that land but kept it, I believe, on the thought of getting several windmills. So far it hasn't happened. He paid over a hundred grand for that 'ranch' but if he got five windmills on it, they would pay him a hundred grand in two years. I am sure most of the land owners set things up to get depreciation off their federal taxes.
