I don't take anything. I changed my diet 5 yr ago to reduce fatty stuff, and now eat baby back ribs only twice a mo instead of twice a week+, and switched to canola oil, and whole grain bread....and guess what? In five years my stats are in the awesome range.
Last week he said I could stand a little more exercise to further reduce bad cholesteral, but other than that, I need nothing.
My opinion....if you go asking what you should take, they'll give you a list. It's what you're paying them for.
No wonder insurance rates are out of sight.
Quit looking for the cure all regimen and just eat right.
