Madison - Wisconsin Democrats plan to file recall petitions for a third Republican state senator over his vote to curtail collective bargaining for most public employees.
Recall organizer Ann Schmidt said she'll turn in more than the 14,700 signatures needed for a recall of Sen. Luther Olsen of Ripon. Democratic organizers have already filed signatures to recall GOP Sens. Randy Hopper of Fond du Lac and Dan Kapanke of La Crosse. Hopper and Kapanke are challenging those petitions.
Democrats would need to win three seats in order to take control of the Senate.
Recall organizers are targeting eight Democrats and eight Republicans for their opposition or support of the budget-repair bill, which ends most collective bargaining for most public employees. A judge has blocked the law from taking effect.
Olsen didn't immediately return a call for comment.
