ribit, that reminded me of a co-worker. Back when we still got checks on Friday, this guy was living paycheck to paycheck. His wife and daughter spent every penny on clothes and shoes. Some of the others were always buying the big TVs and all the other new toys. It amazed me that they could work tons of overtime and just scrape by.

...there's folks I used to work with who took extravagant vacations annually and bought new cars at least every two or three years and who lived on credit cards til they built up a little equity on their homes which they would refinance to pay off their credit cards. They are my age, they have credit card bills and house payments and car payments and they feel that I was luckier in life's lottery than they were and that I owe em somethin.
