I haven't followed the case, but I strongly presume she was more comfortable and confident using her own computer than learning the official system. This is not at all uncommon, especially among those of us who are slipping out of date on the latest technology.

If you guys want to waste your time making her a cause celebre, go to it.

The 'error' itself may have been human, but the decision to use her OWN personal computer to store and tally the election results, a computer which did NOT even use the state proscribed software purchased for just that purpose (she admits to using Excel instead), that was NOT a simple case of 'human error'. That was either a case of stupidity or hubris!
