HYUP !

Yessiree!!! Nailed it...

I stopped in Paris enroute to Istanbull a couple months ago.. We had a lengthy layover so we took a TAXI to the Eiffel Tower.

We got our driver's cell number so we could call him to get us when we needed to head back to the airport.

Being a person of Historical Interests of course I wanted to see the "monuments" from WW2 and taste the cuisine of the Parisian delis.
My grandkids in their twenties had not figured out that their arthritic eaten grandfather could not walk at THEIR pace much less run. They finally realized my daughter and I were a long way behind so they finally figured it out..

Despite all the marvelous things said about Paris over the years being so lovely and inspiring, I did not find it that way.

The Seine River was just a slightly wider large creek . Maybe 50 foot across at best.

Not very deep either.

People are RUDE. They will run you over with their feet and shoes. They really are not nice to be around. Then there was the cafe/restaurant.

IF people in this country would be required to go there and eat at a diner for lunch only, they might then be grateful for how good we have it here price-wise.. Our costs are far less for everyday essentials.

Onward from Paris to Istanbul, Turkey.
1. WHAT an unbelievable modern and large, well designed airport! Easy to follow directions with the signs. Great area for luggage pick-up. Extremely large area... Not crowded at all.

Istanbul is QUADRUPLE the population and Size of New York city. Let that sink in for a minute..

It is true.. An ancient country that was around in Biblical New Testament and Roman times. LOTS of Roman architectural influence around the city and countryside.. I was inside a still weekly used Roman Coliseum built in the FIRST century. It was incredible.. All stone....

Saw and was in the city of Ephesus. Went inside the Apostle John's house on top of the hill next to Ephesus. Mary lived out her life in that house..Went inside that as well.

The other two things I was impressed with were
1. The beauty of the Mediterranean Sea AND the Bosporous Strait which divides Asia and Europe and accesses the Black Sea from the Mediterranean. Our last night in Turkey we enjoyed a dinner and show cruise in the strait that was wonderful.

I do not believe the Turks fall into that category of Euroweenies.
Spain, France, and some others do maybe even Germany, but not Turkey...

DID ya know that BMW and Mercedes BOTH have auto finish Assemebly plants in Istanbul? I never saw so many Beamers and Benz's on the roads streets and interstates. Apparently the employees get them at a pretty significantly reduced cost than from a Dealer..

My next educational trip would likely be Greece and a little time in Rome.. I want to see the ancient civilizations.. And the beauty of the earth that God made by the power of HIS voice and command.

SO, I am finally retiring from a long career at the end of this year.
I don't know how much time the Lord has appointed to me , and nobody does, but if by His grace I have the strength and time I want to go do the above mentioned things as well as take my wife on an Alaskan cruise that she would like to see the glaciers..

SO, some big changes for me after all these decades of being busy to the bone and employing people and serving a lot of customers of mine now with technical advise and product recommendations for their operations.

My heart failure is not getting better. It slowly gets worse.. SO it is the Lord's appointed time that only HE knows when my heart will stop and I will have the JOY of going home to see HIM and my Lord Jesus Christ forever to praise HIM for WHO HE is and all HE has done! Only HE is worthy of praise and Worship..

Not any man..

SO, this is what I have been thinking about for awhile now and my bride of over 52 years is in agreement with me..

Will see ya all sometime later..

My best to each of you!

in Christ Jesus,

micro....

Quote from 'Hot Air'

So, basically, 500 million Europeans expect 300 million Americans to protect them from from 120 million russians who can't even defeat 40 million Ukrainians while those 500 million Europeans don't even realize they are being conquered by 2 billion muslims who claim they are being persecuted by 8 million Israelis. Is that about right?
