Nithya Raman

The Los Angeles mayor's race may not be as dire for Republicans backing Spencer Pratt as we thought. The "democratic socialist" (read that as "Commie") candidate who recently surpassed him for the coveted second-place slot on the general election ballot, Nithya Raman, appears to have connections to some homeless voters, and it sure looks like there were some pretty egregious shenanigans going on.

Thousands of homeless voters were registered to vote at LA shelters — despite many not living there or the facilities not having any beds.

And as Spencer Pratt was eliminated by Nithya Raman in the mayor’s race on Monday night, it can be revealed that one drop-in center that received $600,000 from the socialist candidate had 185 registered voters at the address but offers no accommodations.

The revelations have prompted US Attorney Bill Essayli to say he will investigate the concerns uncovered by The Post and “follow the evidence” to see if the law has been broken.

A review of records shows 7,600 voters tied to homeless shelters and service providers.

All of those voted, presumably for Nithya Raman - or at least, for a Democrat. But one "shelter" in particular has clear ties to Nithya Raman, having accepted a fat check from her hands:

Among them was St. Joseph Center in Venice, a homeless services drop-in center with 185 registered voters tied to its address. The organization received a $600,000 taxpayer-funded grant awarded by Raman while she chaired the City Council’s Housing and Homelessness Committee.

Last week, The Post contacted her campaign and the center seeking comment regarding the relationship between the councilmember and the organization but has not heard back. However, a photograph showing Raman presenting a check was taken down from its website following our inquiries.

Martin Rowe, a homeless man living in Venice, told The Post he was registered to vote during an outreach effort outside a Ralphs grocery store.

“They asked you all the questions,” Rowe said. “They gave you a paper.”

Yes, that would appear to be a campaign registering bums to vote, and presumably also "harvesting" their ballots.

And Democrats claim that all of these blue-city elections are on the up-and-up. "Move along," they intone, "...nothing to see here." And yet, there clearly is rather a lot to see here.

US Attorney Bill Essayli has not, as of this writing, made any official statement on the matter. But the Post piece states that he's already on the case. While all the details aren't yet known, this looks very bad, and it has the potential to cast doubt on the outcome of the LA mayoral primary election, especially given the very mysterious (not really) last-minute surge of votes for Nithya Raman. It's a pattern we've seen before, we might recall, most egregiously in the 2020 presidential election.

This is why the United States needs election reform, and at all levels. A country without fair elections is not a country with a true representative government, and there have been too many revelations of fraud and cheating around the country in the last few cycles. This can't continue.

As for Los Angeles: It appears that, as far as the City of Angels mayoral primary election is concerned, the fat lady ain't sung yet.
