Shrodingers Friends
...There is a website I can go to and check up on all my old high school chums. Tommy who was a good friend died awhile back. He was buried and didn't have any family to get a headstone for his grave. Classmates took up a contribution.
...Kathy C? I dunno how she's doing. Her brother was killed in Vietnam and she never got over it they say.
...Steven and Jay died early on. Heart attack and lung cancer.
...Midge died recently. He was one of the gang back in the day. Lived almost as long as me but Im not done yet.
...The thing about keeping up with the deaths of all these folks who were near and dear to me is that they are "Shrodingers Friends". As long as I don't check on them (open the box) they are as strong and healthy and funny as they ever were. Once ya open the box "it is what it is" and ya can never recapture them as they were.
Liberals are like a "Slinky". Totally useless, but somehow ya can't help but smile when you see one tumble down a flight of stairs!
