...I would think that if God were to appear to a man that it would be in a form that a man could understand rather than scare the crap out of said man with his actual appearance. If not a man, maybe a "burning bush". I gotta tell ya if I walked up on a burning bush and it started talking to me I would grab my smartphone and take pictures first, then call National Enquirer or one of them. Maybe ask he/she/it for a lottery number he/she/it feels good about just as a chance to determine whether the burning bush was an imposter or not. Ya can't really expect God to be carrying an ID card ya know.

Liberals are like a "Slinky". Totally useless, but somehow ya can't help but smile when you see one tumble down a flight of stairs!

>> "We LOOK LIKE HIM."

Let's think about that for a moment. Does it make sense? God was around before people. Before the Earth. Even before the universe, right?

We humans have hair with which to stay warm. Would God's body have needed hair?

We have hands and fingers and fingernails for scratching around in dirt, plucking out splinters, picking food, throwing spears, touching people etc. Would God have needed to do any of that?

Like all land animals, we have a nose - because we need to breathe. Did God have to breathe?

We have ears that pick up vibrating air and hear what is happening. Did God have ears so that he could do that too?

We have teeth for tearing food and chewing up roughage. We have a tongue that mixes saliva with the food and pushes it down our throats because we have to eat. Did God have to eat?

The tongue also works with vocal chords and lips, allowing us to make noises and shape the sounds so that we can talk. Did God need to talk? To who? Wasn't he the first?

We have a rectum so that we can eliminate the food after it's been used. Would God have that too?

We have legs that are shaped well for getting around on the land of a planet that has about 1 G of gravity. Did God need to walk in order to get around?

I could continue, but I expect you see my point. Humans look the way they do because their bodies are adapted to life on a small, rocky planet with land and oceans and a thin atmosphere, one AU from a Type G2V star, with a magnetic field to push most of the radiation away, filled with plants and animals.

God, who is bigger than the universe, who "has the whole world in his hands," who knows everyone's minds and can "speak" to them telepathically and present himself in visions, doesn't need any of the things in the human body. The only form that makes any kind of sense for God is that of the Holy Ghost - ethereal, intangible, not physical.

We weren't made in the image of God. We have a form that's pretty well suited for life on Earth. God, on the other hand, was definitely made in the image of MAN.
