Re: “First, if there is a somewhat short but insightful treatise on 'intelligent design' in there do you think you could post it over on 'Chum' for me? ”
Ah, then you want me to post MY posts! LOL...

Intelligent design generally divides into two broad conversations. In biology, it appears as an Evolution versus God debate, with God usually referring to the Christian deity. Frequently, it dips into how life began - which actually has nothing to do with Evolution. Evolution has to do with survival of the fittest, mutation and genetic drift. Abiogenesis covers the origin of life from non-life. So, in biology, there's a sub-debate I'll call Abiogenesis versus God. Then there is another that arises from comments about the age of the Earth, fossils, the Great Flood, etc. You know how that goes. There's a lot of Bible talk, both pro and con. As I said, I've learned a lot about the Bible.

In physics, the focus shifts to the origin of the universe: whether the Big Bang was truly the beginning, what if anything preceded it, and what could have triggered it. While some Christians promote their God as the intelligence behind these questions, there is no requirement that intelligence refer to their God or to any god at all. It is equally possible that no intelligence was involved, or that the Big Bang arose from conditions that do not require a cause in the traditional sense.

All of these possibilities fall within the wider landscape of intelligent design debates.

I'll see what I can do about posting a 'short but insightful treatise,' but it may not be what you want. As with conversations here, the value is often derived from the responses and feedback. It's hard for me to copy an entire thread.

Do you use Facebook? If you do, I can guide you to the proper groups.

Hey De,

First, if there is a somewhat short but insightful treatise on 'intelligent design' in there do you think you could post it over on 'Chum' for me? (And if others in here want to learn something - ASK De to post in here.)

Second, as I'm sure you remember I'm a fan of the 'theory of Evolution'.

Zim.
