This leftist oinker is a SPORTS COLUMNIST, believe it or not, for the WaPo and used to be a senior writer for Sports Illustrated before it went defunct - because it forgot about sports and went all in on woketardism. Apparently, she won the AP Sports Columnist of the Year Award five times, received the National Press Foundation 2017 chairman citation, and was a finalist for the 2020 Pulitzer Prize, but she doesn't know jacksh!t about sports. BWHA HA HA HA HA HA!!!

Readers added context: WNBA figure is average per national/US broadcast game (mostly ESPN/Ion). NHL figure includes many local/regional broadcasts with smaller audiences. NHL has ~1,300 games/year vs. WNBA's ~286 games, so total viewership much higher for NHL. Direct per-game comparison misleading.
