...that is a concern but also of concern is these "Licenses" to keep using a product you already paid for. Won't be long before your tires automatically deflate if you don't renew your "Air License".

I've got mixed feelings. Isn't the government able to stop our cars already by lighting them up and hitting a siren? If that doesn't stop your car, other measures SHOULD be taken. So this kill switch might just be a better way of dealing with those who want to make a run for it.

On the other hand, could hackers figure out how to stop other people's cars? If that's possible, then kill switches become an exceedingly BAD idea. Could you imagine a hacker killing all the cars on a freeway during rush hour? Or in a blizzard? My guess is that manufacturers will bend over backwards to ensure that that never happens. They'd better!
