Yeah ... heh heh heh ... what could POSSIBLY go wrong, eh?! Housing in NYC ... which is already a hot mess ... is going to become absolutely abysmal during the next four years.

I am REALLY glad that I'm not a landlord in NYC.

NYC’s COPA Law

The Community Opportunity to Purchase Act (COPA is a recently passed New York City local law

- It gives qualified nonprofits (such as community land trusts or mission-driven organizations, potentially in joint ventures with for-profits) a first opportunity to submit an offer on multifamily residential buildings before they hit the open market.
- In some versions, it includes a right of first refusal** to match third-party offers.
