I'll take a stab at it.

There is no such thing as "housing inflation."

In a system with finite money, when the price of something goes up, people either do not buy it or do not buy something else. They only have so much money, after all. Thus, the price increase spurs people to make decisions on where their LIMITED money will go. When they stop buying something else, those prices fall so that there is no net increase in prices. No inflation.

Inflation is always systemic. Either the price of everything as a whole goes up and inflation is present, or it does not. The cause of inflation is not immigrants. It is always an increase in the money supply beyond what is appropriate to counter improved national production. Thus, if production goes up 50%, an increase in the money supply by 50% will keep systemic prices stable. Any money supply increase beyond that produces inflation.

I absolutely agree that the government is causing inflation. But it's not "housing" inflation or inflation that targets any given product or industry. Inflation doesn't work that way.

What we're probably experiencing is government policies that promote housing price increases. But that's different.

The Thesis: Immigration and Illegal Immigration are the overwhelming principle cause of Housing Inflation.

Counter Thesis: The correlation between housing inflation and increase in immigration, illegal immigration is .... [b]simple correlation.[b]

Principles of logic state that correlation is ABSOLUTELY NOT PROOF of causation.

Think on that. ALL the media are spouting this nonsense, and even government 'officials' are espousing this ridiculous and non-existant 'cause and effect'.

This nonsense got a HUGE kickstart from that Ohio Haitian 'eating cats and dogs' broohaha, where it was 'conclusively proven' that the MONSTROUS increase in population, almost exclusively Haitian, had TRIPLED the cost of 'lower income' housing. The 3x increase DID indeed occur, and many low income people were kicked out in order to rent to higher-paying Haitians. That is only HALF OF THE TRUTH.

The [b]REAL CAUSE OF THE INCREASE WAS NOT THE HAITIANS.

IT WAS THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT MONEY being GIVEN to the illegals for HOUSING ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION. That is a pure, certifiable 'cause and effect' FACT.

THESIS: The REAL cause of the 'housing price explosion' can be laid FIRMLY at the feet of the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT.

Regulations, Federal Reserve Policies/Interest Rates, EXTREME EXPLOSION in Federal bureaucrat numbers qith the exorbiat salaries they are paid, migration of said people from excessively overvalued properties in both LEFT COAST areas chewing up lower priced properties (and thus driving prices up elsewhere) with their tax-payer funded APPRECIATED HIGH PRICE housing bonanzas; thus the GOVERNMENT CAUSED HOUSING INFLATION pain is spread in a double-dipping penalty on the rest of US in the U.S.

Grok ALL the preceding - I haven't ... but am pretty sure the above is difficult to argue against.
