Yeah, I know the feeling. (Peace time army.) I remember one exercise. I was the Captain's RTO. We were out there on the edge of the airfield and the mortar platoon lieutenant (2nd) had my handset glued to his ear and kept turning round and round trying to see everything going on. A couple of times I had to stand up and spin the guy back around three times to get the cord untangled.

(Reminds me of a silly dog I once owned. We'd go for a walk, and he kept getting tangled around my legs. So I'd stop and he'd get irritated with me cause we weren't moving anymore . . . But, he did learn. When I stopped he'd check and untangle and off we'd go.)

Warrant Officers were worth their weight in Gold. Captains and above were pretty much ok but I had serious concerns about first and second Lt's. They were usually an annoying distraction. Didn't know shit and wanted to micro manage everything.
