Re: “I feel for people living in very tough conditions and wondering where their next bite to eat will come from..”
I hear people whine about how poor they are. Then I tell them that my family of six lived for a year in a 16' trailer with no A/C, no water, no bathroom, no refrigerator. In the winter mornings, the walls would have a quarter inch of ice on them from our breath.

If we needed to use the bathroom during the night, we either used a Clorox bottle or we had to get fully dressed and then walk a hundred yards to the bathroom/shower area. But it was warm so I'd hang out there for a while before returning.

I was a kid and I had one toy. It was a car tire I'd found. My brother had one too. You'd be amazed at how much fun a tire can be.

When I tell this story, the people whining to me usually shut up real quick. Not many of them have it as tough as that.

You know what? It was all FINE. We weren't miserable. We didn't want or need anyone's help. And I suggest you look very hard into what charity you're planning to gift your money to because there's a very good chance your money will be wasted. Many charities siphon a majority of gifted funds into their own bank accounts, giving just a small portion to people who don't really need or deserve it. By and large, people who live like rats and - year after year - don't esape that situation are simply LAZY.

can you even imagine having to live in such a shelter?

This is what it means to have nothing.

Jesus said that we are to give to the poor. One day that could be me or you. We do not know what a day may bring or some catastrophe inflicted upon our system or savings. My heart goes out to these poor.
I could have been just like them but for the grace of God.
We don't get to choose to whom we are born or what conditions our parents may be in..

That is why we have an abundance. We are to help others in need out of our abundance we have been given and blessed with by God.

I feel for people living in very tough conditions and wondering where their next bite to eat will come from..

One thing I will do is have my daughter to donate a large sum of my estate to the local Rescue shelter to help those in need.

My Pastor once said that a "need seen is an assignemnt given". God has us see things that open our eyes and touch our hearts and empathy. Jesus said for those who have much to give to those who have little..

HE was very aware of poverty. Its been awhile since I preached at the City Gospel Mission in downtown Cincinnati but I can still see those people, men, women, children, watching and listening. All they wanted was a warm place to stay and bed to sleep in and someting to eat.. Did ya know nice new SOCKS are always in demand at these shelters? I get that..

I am eternally grateful that I was spared from becoming one who had nothing except the rags on my body..

We have so very much to be grateful and Thankful to GOD for that we take for granted and mistakenly t hink that it was because of our genius and selfdoing that we have had successes in abundance.

We could have been born with about 25 IQ points lower.. Or in a ghetto.

I think I'll call the director in downtown and see what he needs for this season.. I can help.. God has touched my heart..
