How appropriate that this was published on Halloween ... because Miss Emhoff's costume was fairly monstrous.
Ella Emhoff has been making fashion statements since her first major public appearance, when she stepped out at her step-mom, Kamala Harris’s vice presidential inauguration wearing a tartan Miu Miu coat with crystal-adorned shoulders layered over a burgundy Batsheva dress. Certainly not your average political getup.
Of course, there are limits to what you can wear when you’re the stepdaughter of the VP, but now that Emhoff isn’t under quite such a hypercritical lens, she’s able to explore her inner fashionista even further.
And we all remain desperately hopeful that she will refrain from further "exploration" ... at least, anyway, where there are cameras around.
Case in point: the burgeoning designer and model wore one of her most daring looks yet, when she attended WSJ. Magazine’s 2025 Innovator Awards on Wednesday night.
For the event, Emhoff chose to embrace the ongoing naked dress trend, with a lacy, see-through design from Elsa Hosk’s luxury label, Helsa.
The romantic, lingerie-inspired piece was a delicate black dress that featured a bustier-style bodice with frayed, scalloped hems along the neckline and skirt. Held up by two thick straps, the entire design was composed of a fine floral lace, with a few seams creating panels as they ran down her body.
Well, in all honesty ... thank goodness for those "two thick straps" ... 'cuz she definitely does NOT have any tits to hold up that "design."
Underneath the sheer look, Emhoff added a pair of black panties, and she also wore a set of matching leather flats with floral accoutrements decorating the toes. Finally, for a monochromatic finish, she carried a small, quilted black leather handbag from Gucci, which hung from her shoulder on a golden chain strap.
When it comes to expressing her style, rest assured that Emhoff is just getting started.
