Heh heh heh heh heh ... I got no goat to get, my friend. You'll need to talk to zzshart about goats.

Hmmm ... you're doing a little bit of wishful thinking, there, micro. In all honesty, I think this year's Ohio State team is most definitely NOT as good as last year's team. Don't get me wrong, this year's team is definitely a playoff contender, but it has yet to be tested and it is not going to be until the playoffs start. The Big 10 only has three teams of playoff caliber - Ohio State, Indiana & Oregon. Iowa, Nebraska, USC & Michigan are respectably average, but the rest are quite mediocre. And this year, Ohio State plays NONE of them, except for the somewhat beleaguered Michigan Wolverines. The SEC, on the other hand, has seven playoff caliber teams - Texas A&M, Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Tennessee & Missouri. And, while I do not believe they will make the playoffs this year, Texas, Oklahoma & LSU are talented and strong enough to take any team the Big 10 has to offer in a head-to-head match.

Yes, Ohio State & Indiana are currently ranked #1 & #2 in the beauty pageant polls, but based on strength of schedule, I cannot honestly agree that they are the "two best teams." I truly believe the top seven SEC teams would come out ahead more often than not in head-to-head match-ups with the top three Big 10 teams. But, as you say, that is what the playoff system is for.

Of course, it remains to be seen who will ultimately make the playoffs this year, but the SEC contingent will be far more battle-tested than the Big 10 teams once the playoffs commence. We'll just have to see how it all plays out when it comes to nut-cuttin' time.

I heard that comment last year as well . I guess all those other teams Ohio State beat in the playoffs were just buttercips also.. INcluding Texas.. Laughing Laughing

Jes tryin' to git yer goat Sir Wizard. No harm intended. The defending National Champs are better this year than last year. When one considers that for a moment, it's gonna be very difficult to get a "W" against them.

We'll see what happens in the playoffs at the end of the season..

Ole Miss looks to be among the best in the SEC. The Aggies also can make a strong case.. And Georgia and Bama may yet come out of hibernation..

STill plenty of games to play so we'll let the contestants battle it out. Indiana is for real this year. A powerful offense and good defense. It'll be interesting going thru the remaining schedules.

I jes enjoy yankin you reb's chains.. It's a bright spot in my day! Laughing Laughing Laughing

As a player in my younger days and prime in BIG school division, Playing for three STATE championships in four years, winning two, I know better than most the game is won in the trenches. I was in them. I know.

I can't tell ya how many times I was Bitten. Kicked in bad places, spit on, etc. We were not expected to win the title thosetwo years but we overcame the hype from the other side and beat them like a bad habit..

SOmetimes ya run into folks that are just immovable objects and wonder what they have been eating all these years. Gigantic farm boys.. It was a long game.....

Anyway, The two best teams are Indiana and Ohio State right now.. We'd love to have ya come and join us.

That is what the playoffs are for...
