Have you visited the Yorktown battlefield in Virginia?

I did about four years ago. Its amazing.. At least it was to me.. A genuine piece of Birth of American Independence that is still there today.

On this day in 1781, an officer with a white flag and a drummer beating a parley emerged from the British lines at Yorktown.

The besieged Lord Charles Cornwallis formally asked General George Washington to offer him terms for surrender.

Just two days later, Cornwallis signed the final Articles of Capitulation, effectively ending the fighting of the American Revolution.
