There was a 'confirmation hearing' and vote.
Brown Jackson to the U.S. Supreme Court was 53-47 on April 7, 2022. All 50 Democratic senators (plus the two independents who caucus with them) voted in favor, joined by three Republicans: Susan Collins (ME), Lisa Murkowski (AK), and Mitt Romney (UT). This made Jackson the first Black woman confirmed to the Court.
Solution: Amend the Constitution. Require a 2/3 majority SENATE vote for ALL nominations to the Supreme Court.
Or put the cloture vote back in as required for SCOTUS nominees - you know the one - the one that Republicans went along with eliminating for federal judges ... limit it to ONLY lower courts or put back in the OLD 'filibuster' rules - not the pansy assed ones that exist now.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good ...
