Like you sire I have a soft spot for kittens.. My daughter nearby is a cat person and has a alpha male Husky that is easily over 200 pounds. They get along grandly.. The dog is gentle and playful. The oldest cat is around 15 years and the younger one is maybe 4 years. Its a longhair whereas Rocky the older one is short haired. He is very affectionate and smart.. The other one is not very social and kind of a loner and out all night long hunting. He brings "presents and food" home for the family a couple times a week like half eaten mice,a bird, and other assorted smaller animals.
I really like Rocky. But I could not have a cat living in our house.. We are a happy family with our boy Charlie who goes about 70 pounds amd is a Australian cattledog.. TAlk about smart animals. Herders are highly intelligent dogs and he is no exception.. We have to be careful when we talk to not say certain words or he'll get all revved up. He wants to go everywhere withus but is NOT a good riding passenger. He is going for his nail trim and grind this morning.. He's really good abot letting the groomer trim his nails and then use a grinder to smooth them all out.. He doesn't mind..
So we're off soon with Charlie in the passenger rear seat soon.
