Except . . . I think Genesis says that Eve *did* become "like God" when she ate forbidden fruit from the Tree of Knowledge.

It's something like that - about her becoming like God. I'll leave it to you to look it up. I'm not a Bible reader, after all. If I've got it right, then being "like God" just means having her eyes opened.

Hmmm ... but, THIS is no prediction. It is simply a helpful warning. It doesn't matter what men try to replace God with - money, political power, science, "artificial intelligence," or anything else - it won't work. We are NOT God and none of our delusions about becoming gods are going to come true. Such "best laid plans of mice and men" will always crash and burn in agony. God cannot be replaced. We would be better served to take our socks and shoes off, walk up to a brick wall, and kick it until our foot is a bloody stump. Only God is omnipotent, omniscient, righteous, and holy and He is the only One who is worthy and deserving of men's worship.

So, men should continue to strive and innovate, BUT they should also be careful not to allow their inventions and egos to lead them astray into unjustified delusions of grandeur.
