Re: “Silver and gold are $32.63 and $3413.80, respectively. Let's see which one gains 25% first. (Closing prices only.) My bet is on silver at $40.18, not gold at $4267.25.”I'm sure that when you heard today's big news from Nestle, the first thing that crossed your mind was my metals prediction from April and how was it doing? The answer is, not bad! It happened today, in spectacular fashion! Silver's blowout day helped it to close at $40.66 for a 4-month gain of 24.59%. I must have fat-fingered the calculator when I tried to figure out what 1.25 times $32.63 is. But it is what it is, well above the anticipated $40.18 and so quickly! That puts it waaaaay over gold with its measly 1.8% advance. So, do these two move together? Yes - but not always in lockstep.

At this time I would reverse my April prediction, looking for gold to gain 25% before silver does. That would put gold at $4,344.63 long before silver sees 50.83.

But never count silver out. These two will BOTH climb - as sure as the dollar will fail.

Re: “So gold had some catching up to do and I think it's done that. IMO, silver is currently the better short-term choice.”Silver and gold are $32.63 and $3413.80, respectively. Let's see which one gains 25% first. (Closing prices only.) My bet is on silver at $40.18, not gold at $4267.25.
