Many years back, my older brother had clients in Canada who were cigarette smokers. Whenever he paid them a visit, he would bring in several cartons for them. You could declare and bring in quite a few cartons for "personal use." He wasn't a smoker, but the Canadian customs folks didn't know that.

Now, cigarettes have gotten really pricey in the U.S. over the years, but apparently, they have been and still are astronomically expensive in Canada. Of course, he gave the cigarettes to his customers for free - that was just good business.

I wonder if there is already a black market for American whiskey originating out of Alberta to the other Canadian provinces?

Which kinda makes me wonder . . .
If anybody been buying bourbon in Kentucky and sneaking it into canada to sell it.
