For the most part, her district covers South Dallas and suburbs just south of Dallas. South Dallas is heavily black, as are some of those suburbs. That doesn't mean there are not folks with more than half-a-brain in that district who suffer under her "representation," but those who do not way outnumber those who do - possess at least half-a-brain, that is. In fact, a Republican didn't even bother to contest her in the 2024 election. Her only opponent in 2024 was a Libertarian. A Republican ran against her in 2022 and received 22% of the vote.
