Re: “This just won't quit and the chest area above the heart is extremely tender to touch.”
I wore a meter for two weeks because I thought I was having heart palpitations. The meter registered NOTHING when I pushed its little button to say I was experiencing something, and then registered ventricular tachycardia at a time when I felt nothing wrong. Isn't that strange?

The tachycardia was investigated and determined to not be the really bad kind. But as for what I *was* feeling, my doctor said it was likely just a nerve. It felt like a small motor going off inside me.

It's been a couple of years and I've learned that it really is just a nerve. It's caused by sleeping or lying with my hand near my head. If I straighten my arm, the spasm soon ends. I've taught myself to not sleep that way anymore. The palpitation that seemed to be in my heart or gut but which was really a nerve spasm has practically stopped.

I'm not saying that this is what's happening with you, but it's worth considering. If they haven't already put you onto a meter for two weeks, ask them to do it. If what you're feeling is really your heart, they'll be able to confirm it and tell you what it's doing.

well

this condition has kept on going and I finally called my heart doctor's office to let him know what is going on.

They'll get back with me. This just won't quit and the chest area above the heart is extremely tender to touch.

I think I need to go lay down on the recliner a bit as I am now pretty tired.
