... they are desperately going out to the public, hat in hand, begging for alms.
AND ACTUALLY, THAT is EXACTLY what they should be doing. They are NOT an agency of the government ... they are a left-wing propaganda outlet that needs to source its funding from nutty woketards who agree with their bat-sh!t crazy, Marxist agenda. BUT, three things that immediately come to mind in regard to truth-in-advertising for them:
1. In this current appeal, NPR CEO Katherine Maher is lying through her teeth about NPR/PBS especially servicing the more rural areas of the United States - THAT'S HOGWASH - NPR/PBS whore themselves out to arrogant, self-assumed (and self-consumed) "elites" of the metropolitan areas of the east and west coasts. NPR/PBS does not give a SH!T about middle America.
2. NPR/PBS has no interest in providing general, nonpartisan programming for all Americans - it is a Marxist propaganda outlet run by Marxists who wish to promote a left-wing agenda.
3. Because of #2, above, NPR/PBS should lose its "charitable" status and be listed as a political organization - in other words, donations to NPR/PBS would not longer be tax deductible.

'For the Cost of a Cup of Coffee': NPR CEO Katherine Maher Releases Video Plea for More Propaganda Money

NPR CEO Katherine Maher and her fellow activist Democrats just had their taxpayer funding pulled. Maher immediately started doing what Democrats do best - fearmongering for donations. She released a ‘panhandling’ video on Friday, begging for money so rural folk will be up-to-date on the latest trends in LGBTQIA+ and sheltering illegal aliens from ICE.
Here’s Maher’s video.
Collin Rugg (@CollinRugg) ~ NEW: NPR CEO Katherine Maher says communities across America will now suffer after Congress voted to strip over $1 billion from NPR and PBS.
Maher begged people to step in and donate as she tried convincing them that they would suffer without NPR.
So absurd you'd think this was a parody.

"WON'T SOMEBODY PLEASE THINK OF THE RURAL FOLKS!"
Commenters say Maher and her NPR drones have not only lost their funding, but their messaging is broken as well.
One Bad Dude (@OneBadDude_) ~ They’re losing control of the narrative and becoming desperate.
Well, maybe Katherine should consider making a more personal, intimate appeal ...

... to her bestest Sugar Daddy, eh?

George Soros, "Daddy Warbucks for Communists"
Collin Rugg (@CollinRugg) ~ *Literally anything happens*, and ...
Democrats: "Underprivileged communities across America will now suffer because of this."

Old Tom Morris (@OldTom_Morris) ~ Because “underprivileged communities” are well known for being big fans of NPR and PBS.

One Bad Dude (@OneBadDude_) ~ More and more people are paying attention to this and waking up to their lies. They only have themselves to blame.
Yep ... NPR/PBS getting pulled off the government tit has been a LONG time comin' ... but, it is SO richly deserved.
Anthony Spano (@Spone63) ~ Im surprised @krmaher didn't say people are going to die - a Democrat staple.
Well, in this pathetic appeal of hers, this twat did say, "And for millions, especially in rural areas, it means losing access to trusted local news, emergency alerts, and everyday connection." - which is certainly a veiled implication that rural areas will now be in danger (possibly deaths due to the loss of "emergency alerts") because NPR/PBS can no longer leech off the American taxpayers. What a steaming load of horsesh!t! In this day and age, emergency alerts are common, pervasive, everywhere from all sorts of sources - cell phones, television, radio, e-mail, etc., etc., etc. Woman, you're a pitiful joke.
"Underprivileged communities" love NPR.

It’s not uncommon to drive through inner city Memphis and see gangbangers discussing something they just heard on NPR’s ‘All Things Considered.’

Posters say it’s hard to take Maher’s plea for cash seriously.
RYGRAAL (@RYGRAAL) ~ Trying really hard not to laugh at work, right now.
Collin Rugg (@CollinRugg) ~ I can't believe they actually ran with this. LOL.
Autism Capital (@AutismCapital) ~ The audacity. Wow. All they do is turn every single thing into an opportunity to ask for money. Utter shamelessness.
Eric Daugherty (@EricLDaugh) ~ The amount of people who will actually suffer: zero.
The only suffering happening is to those who endured Maher’s ‘gimme money’ video.
