Decomposed > Moreover, with all that he knew about the universe, how could Jesus have failed to share his important knowledge that the world is shaped like a ball... and that the Old Testament was wrong to say that the moon was one of two lights his Father had created in the sky? (The moon is not a light.)

But But But . . .
Given the technology of the time (Old Testament) . . . The only possible explanation for the Moon WAS for it to be a 'light in the night sky put there by God so travelers could find their way at night'. "Praise to God - there is a night light!"

But what can one expect of a people with absolutely no concept of electricity, indoor plumbing. . . People who just KNOW the world is flat. (I mean, just look around. The world obviously is flat isn't it?)

Today - we know the moon is just a big ball of rock. We know about gravity and the fact that the Moon is 'tethered' to the earth via a balance between the earths gravity and the moons desire to go screaming off into deep space.

But back in Biblical times? They knew nothing of things we take for granted. Just too easy to say "God Did It." And if you be a holy man praising God for putting that night light in the sky . . . Well, ya just might be able to get the rubes to give ya some money.

Zim.
