DE, and you have quadrupled down on an incorrect stance.
That the CHURCH affirms that ....
The Christian Church affirms no such thing.
Nor does the Bible. The Bible versus quoted specifically rebuke any such 'affirmation'.
Your original: >>>> I am nearly certain that the Church has affirmed that Muslims and Christians worship the same God. Jews, too. "Allah" is just the preferred name for Him under Islam.
I am not the one digressing from the original thesis.
Step back and reread what you have posted and attempted to misattribute since my original rebuttal. I am on target, DE. Are you really claiming that YOU weren't stating that 'everyone worships the same god' that you were only quoting what 'the church has affirmed' ? Arguing from authority. the church has affirmed it - thus it is correct and can't be argued with ?
Sir, take a step back and reflect on your own words.
Please quit the ad hominen routine.
It was not a 'question' you posed, nor one I addressed.
IT WAS A FLAT OUT STATEMENT that i vocally disagreed with. Your entire last post has severe distortions of fact about the ensuing discussion. I'll give you time to review and just let this lie for now.
Eyes wide open - believe someone has pinned the blinders on the incorrect target.

Correction: There was a question at the end of DE's original post. I believe my first response indidates that I did not find it 'hard to believe' - I found it impossible to believe. Because it was not true.
btw: Theo-logy is literally the 'study of god', and this thread started and continued in that very vein. church 'affirmations' about which god people worship, are, ipso facto theological statements.
